This got delivered today and I am excited to share my experience with you all. Firstly, let me mention that I am currently using the following:
1. Sony WH-1000XM3 Wireless Active Noise Cancelling Headphones (Rs. 29,990)
2. Sennheiser CX 7.00BT Wireless In-Ear Headphone (Rs. 12,000)
3. Bose IE2 Wired in-earphones (Rs. 10,000)
I use the Sony for travel and to really enjoy music in leisure. I use the Sennheiser as my daily driver for calls etc etc. And Bose for movies. All the above were over budget for me but I still bought them because I love music. So, why did I buy these basso WEEDO? Well, workouts. But they exceeded my expectations and I realised that I can use them for all the above as well. To be honest I hadn’t even heard of them before buying. I still had to look up the name as I type (lol). At the time of buying I looked at the very positive reviews and thought why not! So here are my thoughts in detail:
Cons:
1. They look cheap
2. The strip connecting the two earpieces may snap with rough use. Also, it is a little short. You might feel this when you move your head around after wearing.
Pros:
1. Sound Quality: Really good sound quality. I was shocked to see such performance at this price point. The bass and lower frequencies sound very very good. The mids and higher frequency is also decent.
2. Bass: The bass will surprise you. It isn’t muddy. It’s pure and proper. Infact the bass is much better than my Sennheiser and those costed 6 times more! The Sennheiser has better mid and highers though.
3. Splashproof: Haven’t tried but it says so on the box. Ideal for workouts.
4. Portability: The carry case is very compact and convenient. The Sennheisers have a hard strap between the earbuds which is more durable but less takes up more luggage space. These however can fold into a small case because of the soft strap.
Other Observations:
1. Convenient to wear for long hours
2. They hold fairly well on the ear. Not as good as the Bose which are champs at this.
3. Buttons are tactile and placement is functional
4. Call quality is good. Took some calls but haven’t
5. Pairing is consistent and convenient
6. They mention noise-cancellation on the box but don’t expect anything
Final thoughts:
I bought these for Rs. 1,999 but after listening to them, I’d gladly pay 3X. You really cannot go wrong with these. They perform at 70% level compared to the Bose I have (at 1/5th the price) and that is seriously high praise.
Even if your budget is 1k, take a hard bite and for them. You won’t regret it.
